Julian Kenning I have a soft spot for prog(ish) rock, yet most of it disappoints with self indulgent prog-soap opera cliches.
Not this one.
Sound and arrangements are fresh and at times even innovative, but that innovation seems to come natural and not just for the sake of "trying hard to be different".
Intelligent music that isn't afraid to be emotional.
If this is a debut album, I'm really curious what comes further down the line.
A great balance of brain and guts.
Efxaristo Poli! Favorite track: Stepping Down.

Little Boy 05:27
Brace Sirens mourn Their passing Not their war Youth Loaded guns Marching past The ceremonial rats They Stand tall As the plan plays out The innocent to tear apart Bravery can’t save you now Can’t save you now The valiant cannot prevail In a mass murder case Wrong place at the wrong time Wrong place at the wrong time Wrong place at the wrong time A price to pay For vindication Till the end, till the end They come to claim your sons before you Burn the garden hedge around To burn the garden hedge around Till the end, till the end They come in the name of bravery Wrong place at the wrong time At the wrong place at the wrong time There are no words It culminates To this Grace Defied The consequence Too immense And the strike Carries on You never know when and how The way it’s going to hit Bravery can’t save you now Can't save you now In a mass murder case Wrong place at the wrong time Wrong place at the wrong time Wrong place at the wrong time A price to pay For vindication Till the end, till the end They come to claim your sons before you Burn the garden hedge around To burn the garden hedge around Till the end, till the end They come in the name of bravery Wrong place at the wrong time At the wrong place at the wrong time There are no words It culminates To this Die, die, die, die, die Young flesh The sacrifice

Adorine 03:55
You wanna laugh in my face? Cause when you do so It's in the mirror you see You wanna crash at my place? I have all the room that you need babe Cause I can handle it now You've shown me the strangest of ways You never ask how I've been Trust me I've had better days You did it your way Wore that theme again You’d still act the same No matter the stakes Made sure to go With all of your notes Taken, written down Said my piece Adorine That sense of danger that lingers still Won’t let you sleep alone Won’t let you breathe in Sipped fast from the coffee mug With a scorn in your stare How can I ever forget? That you were standing there Every small indiscretion And madness has been Eating you inside The rage in your eyes was devised Was devised You did it your way Wore that theme again You’d still act the same No matter the stakes Made sure to go With all of your notes Taken written down Said my piece Adorine Are you? Running from the past though it’s gone Shadows You thought were mine, won’t leave you alone Are you assured? Is it secure? Enough for you now The patterns you choose to adore I don’t (x6) I hope you find the space Where you might re-embrace the past you deny You might just need one more reason A happy accident a masterplan at best You did it yourself There’s no room to fail It’s never been this easy Now it’s down to you To make up the rules Thinking you’re set You won’t ever rest

Placid Taste the fruits Paint the picture You gotta give Gotta give it some credit It’s not so bland I was just getting started You gotta give You gotta give it your best It’s not like you It’s not like you To smudge it all to black Sizzles till my taste buds Start to bleed Till I can’t Place the consonants Inside the words A bad seed Neon is the mark Nature warns you You gotta give You gotta You gotta give The more you stare You figure it out It’s picture perfect Seems the more you stare You figure it out It’s picture perfect It’s like the more you stare You figure it out The more you stare You figure it out It’s picture perfect Seems the more you stare You figure it out It’s picture perfect It’s like the more you stare You figure it out (x4)

No avail it’s time to leave Never thought I'd see it through The things I led myself believe in Didn’t meet halfway Never thought I'd see the break In the wake of day As you descend away Back on rails, rails, off the rails Been running out of trails Are you that someone I can’t fail And it gets harder to stay The more it draws you in It brings a kind of madness We selfishly let live And in the memory I sway again With the veil I laid So you couldn’t see Nor remember So you wouldn't know Wrap up, wrap it up, It’s time to go Your hands, are cold As we speed You see I’m stepping down I know Don’t want to stay in this race I know you wanted it different, different but I’m switching up the pace Been running out of rounds Can’t see beyond the bends See beyond the bends I’m slowing, slowing till the end We‘re getting off the rails Stepping down I know Don't want to stay in this race Can’t see beyond the bends Been switching up the pace Been switching up the pace I’m stepping down this race

No Fret 03:12
Hanging out With some friends Put your shoes on The quest Resumes at noon Better get in through The bedroom window Cause it’s too much fun, it is Worth all the risk Your made-up comrades Will approve Panels you Learnt to make from scratch Banners spread On the job Don’t fret too much For your coming of age Don’t rush The scars on your knees Say it all The lines on your face Are yet to come They come on one by one Take a trip Captain of your own ship It’s ok to be young And do some silly shit No fret Before it’s clear What’s there to find Past that bridge, that bridge I’d lend you this armor of mine But your limbs are way too small To fit yet, to fit No need to rush it No need to rush Enjoy the fields

about

A Goldsmiths University of London graduate, Lemesios is a Cyprus-based composer and performer. His first solo album named Dysphasia, is a mixture of alternative rock with electronic and film scoring elements.

Lemesios has composed music for a number of short films, documentaries and has participated in numerous other projects as a sound designer, sound producer and sound engineer.

As a performer, Lemesios uses live looping to transform solo performances into multipart pieces combining the guitar, bass, vocals and often unconventional sound-making items such as tin cans. His goal is to use the loop machine as a second, third or fourth instrument, in addition to it being an improvisation tool.

As an accomplished guitarist and vocalist, Lemesios has also been performing with local rock bands. His influences include Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Leo Brouwer, György Ligeti, Clint Mansell and Moderat.
